I have some friends that I live vicariously through. Some are building amazing dream homes, some travel all over the place, some do incredible home renovation projects, some hike all sorts of beautiful mountains, and some manage to have not only clean houses, but ones that are decorated beautifully too! I don’t live any of those realities, but I learn as I watch my friends who do and I feel blessed by their joys and talents and opportunities. But I have to admit, there is one type of mom-ing that I tend to gravitate to more often than some of the others. Maybe it’s because I know that I will never EVER experience what they do or maybe it’s because I am totally and ridiculously amazed by what these friends not only experience for themselves, but what they offer to their children. And my one friend that does what she calls roadschool is seriously a super hero in a minivan (or whatever the car is that she drives as they travel all over the United States to experience their education so profoundly)! Homeschool moms rock and I totally love soaking up my friends’ experiences and living vicariously through them!

Homeschool: my personal definition: education gained at home or in a family environment through intense and potentially insane amounts of love, service, focus, effort, time, and work extended from a parent to their child.

Homeschool is CRAZY hard and completely beyond my mental and organizational capacities. I know. I’ve tried it. I dropped out.
